Join Kevin, Executive Director of Programming at the Design Museum for an introduction to improv. Improv, short for improvisation, is a form of live performance in which the performers create scenes, characters, and stories on the spot, without a script or predetermined plan. It's a fun and exciting way to explore your creativity, improve your communication skills, and build your confidence. In this workshop, you'll learn the basic principles and techniques of improv comedy. You'll discover the power of "yes, and" - the cornerstone of improv - which encourages you to accept your scene partner's ideas and build on them. You'll also explore the importance of active listening, teamwork, and staying in the moment. Through a series of exercises and games, you'll develop your ability to think quickly, make bold choices, and create interesting and dynamic characters.
